I would say a father's love.
Mother's tend to be over protective and want to make all of your choices for you so you don't get hurt.
Father's will let you fall and tell you to get back up and get "back on the bike." They will help you if you need it, but they want you to do it on your own.

God IS love, pure love and therefore the question is irrelevant. However, there are many times when God calls himself Father. Jesus calls him Father. Jesus said, "When you pray, pray like this, 'Our Father, who is in heaven..." Then again, Jesus said, "How many times did I want to gather you up like a hen but you would not come". Fathers discipline their children, so God disciplines his own. But ultimately, God is love. Maybe we will never really know love until we know God.

Given the dysfunctional family I came from, hopefully, it's like neither. That would be a scary thought. God's love is unconditional and all-encompassing, unlike that of many humans.

1. He sent His only Son to die for us.
2. It transcends both their love. For an awesome God to want a relationship with such selfish people like us, that is agape.

Are you referring to those fathers in the black robes? They seem to be very loving, but the way they express it takes some getting used to.

I think what I have is a combination of both of them. My dad is logical, more like political thinking, and my mother is more a mushy and poetic. Imagine that huh?
