Before shaving let them soak in warm water for at least five minutes...this will allow the hairs to soften. The make sure to use shaving cream for shaving...no dry shaving! The apply a good lotion to the skin to prevent it from drying out. As for the browning, use a loofa...the hard kind and scrub it really good, it is a thing that some women get due to shaveing and the lack of oxygen getting into the pit due to the skin constantly touching. As for right now, maybe try some gold bond medicated...it worked for my thighs which get the same way after I shave....except the browning.

Are you talking about your pits or just the hairless underarm of your entire arm?

If you are talking about your pits, stop using the deoderant you have right now! You could be having an allergic reaction to the chemical in the stick deoderant. It will cause you to have a chemical burn scar that won't ever go away.

If it's not your pit or even if it is, take a shower and wash your arms with warm soap and water. It sounds to me like you have some sort of hives so you will need to get some calamine lotion to put on it after you shower.

Aww. Poor baby. That does hurt! First wash, with warm water. But maybe make it pure water, like the kind you drink. And do not apply anything (Except, if you can go soak up a bit of Sun? pits up!!! ) All my research would say , this is an internal imbalance. You need to check into the idea of balancing your acid and alkalinity. Your own perpiration is an irritant. Drink lots of good water, I think you will see a change in that alone. Best Wishes

You are either really irritating your underarms while shaving or you are having an allergic reaction to your deoderant or soap.

I would wash my underarms with a mild soap, dry well, put on over the counter hydrocortisone cream and rub in well. Then I would put on some medicated powder that has zinc oxide in it, Caldesene or Gold Bond baby powder.

Vaseline works wonders. Put it on at night before you go to bed, It has a great healing effect. To alleviate the bumpiness, try not to shave so closely.

you might have a little infection going on here.
Try some anti fungal cream for a few days under your arms.
Make sure when you shave, the area is wet and lathered well with foam, use only a sharp razor, rinse well and pat dry. stay away from deodorants for a couple days and use shower to shower powder...or any pther powder you might have at home give your underarms a chance to heal......apply your cream in
the morning and before you go to bed....

I'd stay away from any kind of water or soap for now. Don't laugh, but there is product called Nupercanal or Nupricainal or something like that.....it is a hemorroid cream, but I use it for everything....it's a miracle cream.

use acne cleanser and cream to treat the problem now;

to prevent it from happening again, make sure your razor is clean and sharp, and shave in the direction of the hair growth... shaving in the opposite direction gets you a closer shave at first, but leaves you more prone to ingrown hairs.

I'd try juice from an aloe-vera plant ... it's great for most all other skin / wound / burn problems ... if you don't have this plant, get one .. plant it, plant a few around your lawn if you're in a temperate region or indooors if you have harsh winters ... they're great "natural medicine'
