My boyfriend is allergic to cats, and gets rashes because I have a cat indoors. Is there anything to help someone who has cat allergies & lives with a cat?
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

air purifiers that take out pet dander, fully vacuuming the place (even the furniture where the cat lays) every 2 days and a quick run over every day, if the cat likes your bed freshen the blankets in the dryer or place a sheet that can be changed daily on top of the bed to keep it covered.

allergy pills for indoor allergies, and ask your bf to see his doctor for allergy shots.

keep your cat brushed and your place clean

I would recommend your boyfriend use the powerful antioxidant Isotonix OPC-3. It is a natural supplement containing the three antioxidants grape seed extract, red wine extract, and another powerful antioxidant called Pycnogenol which is a natural plant extract from the bark of the maritime pine tree which grows exclusively along the coast of southwest France. Pycnogenol is the main antioxidant in OPC-3 that will help with your boyfriend with his allergies. All three antioxidants are put into one supplement hence the name OPC-3. The supplement is in isotonic form when mixed with the right amount of water so you receive superior delivery and absorption in your body. it’s isotonic capable, meaning it’s the same pH levels of the other fluids in your body such as your blood, plasma, tears, etc. isotonic capable supplements are the next best thing to IV (when doctors inject medication immediately into your blood stream) or the shots you're receiving now; when you drink a supplement that’s isotonic your stomach does not have to change it to match your body, it enters your small intestines within minutes. If your allergies are acting up, on an empty stomach once you take OPC-3 you will feel the relief within minutes because the body does not have to break down a pill or change the pH level, it is absorbed right away.
All the information on OPC-3 can be found at http://www.marketamerica.com/blittrean/index.cfm?action=shopping.wpProductNoShop&prodID=13007
At your local health and nutrition stores they sell OPC or OPC-1 for more money, and you only receive anywhere from 30% to 40% of what’s on the nutrition label due to the fact the supplement is not Isotonic capable. OPC-3 is also the only antioxidant with Pycnogenol.

Hope this helped

Are you really sure you want to keep the boyfriend?

For starters, he will need to take an antihistamine and inhalers (if he has asthma) before coming over.

Now if you really love your boyfriend (NO - I'm not going to tell you to get rid of the cat!), you could remove your carpets and draperies, put good quality filters on the furnace and vents, run a HEPA air cleaner. Make sure your clothing/bedding has not come in contact with the cat.

I had a cat for 21 years and I am allergic to cats but I had virtually no symptoms when I made these changes. Even my friends who were allergic were shocked that they did not get sick in my house because they would get sick whenever they went anywhere there was a cat.

I have a cat and I am allergic to it. My doctor recommended that I give it a bath once a week to get rid of the dander and oils which cause the allergic reactions. If that doesn't help him he might try looking into allergy medications like claritin or allegra or even allergy shots. Have him ask his doctor what would be better for him to based on the severity of his symptoms if they persist.

Our kitty is the comparable and has performed particularly nicely on organic stability Venison formulation and their Duck formulation too. It takes approximately 3 months for them to lose the runny butt and scratching by capacity of ways. We degree the nutrition (she's a sprint plump too) and that seems to help plenty. We feed two times an afternoon with a pair little snackies as quickly as we ensue to be abode. She's plenty happier and much greater lively and has lost some weight. Ask your vet for advice for the way plenty to feed. it particularly is generally plenty decrease than the bag, and your cat would be a pest and act like this is ravenous, notwithstanding it won't! solid luck!

• regular antihistamine use; consider allergy shots

• get the best possible air filters for your home heating and cooling systems and change them regularly;

• be meticulous about dusting and sweeping and vacuuming;

• keep the cat out of the bedroom, and (if possible) at least one other room where your boyfriend spends a lot of time to reduce exposure.

You could invite these people over..

WINDSOR, Ont. -- A woman who left her home in the temporary care of a couple returned to make a gruesome discovery in the refrigerator: a pot containing the remains of what appeared to be a cooked cat. "It is strange, there is no question about it," Windsor police Staff Sgt. Ed McNorton said yesterday about the alleged killing and eating of the pet. "We've seen animal abuse before ... but nothing like this."
