We didn't give up, it's just that we've had no success yet. The US military is still looking for Osama Bin Laden.
We began a war with Iraq because the Bush administration felt that Iraq was a threat that needed to be taken care of. Whether that was true or not remains unclear.

yes i am a massive conspiricey nut and im not to sure i belive this myself but the onley reason i can come up with is that is was a hoax to go to iraq(i dont mean to offend any one)
