in the United States i don"t think there is any over here in ireland

One of the strong points of Krav Maga is that it is composed of very simple, very direct offensive and self-defense type techniques that do not require a great amount of skill or countless hours perfecting like some other martial arts stress or require. It is also for medium or short range-not also long range like some types of martial arts. I would not say it is a bad martial art but it is a little simplified and against other martial arts it may come up a little short in some things which may make it harder to be effective for the user-especially with regards to distance.
Some martial arts are not designed to be used against people who know martial arts-they are designed to be used against just an average person and rely on the practitioner making the first move for maximum effectiveness.

Martial arts are sports with self defence running parallel; Krav Maga and Commando Krav Maga are self defence for the civilian; for the police officer/ security services; for the military. Listed them separately as they are all very different in the overall approach, as a member of the public I only want defence, will not hold or restrain anyone, and will not go into a troubled area to stop violence from occurring. Its not the system or style its the level,value,quality of the Sifu,Sensei teaching plus your own effort. quality of ,amount of input equals the [finished ] product.work hard to achieve a decent standard and you will be rewarded with good skill.
