Hello. Iam here to ask if i have Schizophrenia(Just to ask if these are symtoms of it). I have been told i have OCD. But i just want to tell of a the symptoms i have: I get very depressed, for absolutly no reason and or angery. Alot of times i cant control my energy or actions. I have the urge to out of no where flinch. As for a few, i herd that voices are herd by some Schizos. i dont hear voices, but i do argue with my self, sometimes out loud and sometimes think that iam not the only one in control of my actions. I also count my actions, such as steps taken how long it takes me to wash my hands ect. I dont really houlisinate, but i sometimes see somthing thats not there, such as my cat or dog, not a person. I also think that certain line ups of object such as cars or trees have a meaning, and i belive that i have found a secret of some sort that i only know of, and it holds answers. I also have hatefull things said to me still inside of me and it wont go away. Are these symtoms?

no.. i don't think they are.. at least you can recognize the problem though..you could be many things. ocd, bipolar (manic depressive), but schizophrenic? no.. i don't think so. you seem to be an over-analyzer, which is what i do, and i'm bipolar, so yeah. the best way to find out what you have or not is to go to your doctor or see a psychiatrist. they'll have the best answer for you. until then, good luck and hope you get better in time..

initially loopy del is mistaken - it will possibly NOT be cured via treatment. It will also be effectively TREATED however there's no treatment for schizophrenia. It is an overly very difficult sickness to regard. My grandmother has it. She has battled with treatment all her existence and it's nonetheless very difficult for her. She ultimately located a treatment in her 50's that set to work quite good, however her dose has been upped such a lot through the years, and he or she nonetheless hears voices now and then. If the voices inform her that she cannot stroll, then she collapses whilst she attempts to get up. It laws her mind now and then. As a long way because the 25 factor, I do not know however i have heard of individuals having it as early as 22 years historical. As a long way as youngsters having it?? I do not suppose so - on no account heard that - constantly heard it was once early 20's (identical op_'s reply stated youngsters have it) ***btw - very fascinating query!

Well first of all I'm no expert. I've only taken psychology in college. I personally don't believe you have Schizophrenia but don't take "Yahoo Answers" advice for that. If you truly believe you have Schizophrenia you should go get appropriate medical assistance for it. Some people don't like to because they don't like the thought of getting diagnosed with something and having a label put on them. You have to get over that stigma and come to a realization that you are sick of feeling bad and want to go get some help. It may not even be Schizophrenia at all. Schizophrenia usually affects people in their late teens and early 20's. My friend thought he had Schizophrenia and went to get it checked out and it turns out he just has some depression. He apparently thought he heard voices too but the doctors said he was ok and was just really stressed. The doctor said he was not going to bed early enough and was not eating right. Like I said you should go see a doctor about your problem. If you don't want to then try the whole doctor thing, my advice is eat healthy and go to sleep early everynight. Also don't do too many things at once to get you stressed out. Just take it easy bro. God Bless and I'll pray for you.

You sound like me! I had the same thing, not seeing things, just something. Talking to myself started to become obvious to others. I beleive the secret to everything is out there, and I'm going to find it. Moody wasn't the word, anything could switch me from good to totally depressed.

My doc diagnosed me as paranoid. I thought someone was out to get me (death actually was following me) I was/still am timid about living the house. But today I left with my kids, and though I began to sweat, I didn't put a lot of thought to it. I just did it!

I would take the meds then stop. I noticed I started back, thinking I was choking when I ate something. I always felt that, except when on the meds, I am a little better and eat!
I have agreed, with myself to try the meds, if life doesn't improve then try something else. I can't live like this.

Email me for support if you need it. I'm glad to talk!

I can not diagnose you here nor can you diagnose yourself. If you want to know more about the disorder type "schizophrenia" into Yahoo! search and a number of links comes up. NIMH.NIH.gov is a good one as is wikipedia and webmed.com. If you want to know what a psychiatrist will use to ascertain your sanity try DSM 4-Tr in Yahoo! search. This leads you into the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders, fourth edition, revised.

You are not like I was when I first had the disorder over 40 years ago nor do you sound like me now. I am a schizophrenic paranoid outpatient on antipsychotic meds.

Good luck, good health, peace and love!.

some of those are symptoms of OCD, and some are symptoms of bipolar disorder (manic depression), and some might be symptoms of scitzophrenia... but generally speaking, if you're aware there's a problem and think you might be scitzophrenic, you probably aren't. Scitzophrenics have a very loose grasp on the world and what is "normal" and don't usually understand that they have a disorder.
But still, you should talk to your family doctor and maybe get a referal to a psychologist or psychiatrist.

Yes it is close enough to be considered schizoid as the psychotic periods are occurring. A complete breakdown might not happen if your social situation changes slowly enough. Knowing how the body reacts to the aura changes. is so important. Imaginary secrets outside of science is a good sign of past psychosis. Just relax if you can and remember when the brain has to erase a belief you will be depressed again. As the chemicals increase the lower brain or auto brain gets control over the wires that run dow the center of it. Your social group may help you find the reverse chemicals for upper brain erasures.

OMG, so much of what you said sounds so familiar to me!!!

Check into PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - I had a lot of the same symptoms at one time.

I remember saying to my mother one time, "I know I'm neurotic, but I think I meat be psychotic too." I came to learn that I wasn't, it was just the affects of the PTSD.

Good luck! (email me if you want: gonetoday@sbcglobal.net )

there are 4 signs and symptoms of schizophrenia namely:
autism... (you're insensitive to others)
ambivalence... (you cant differentiate fantasy from reality)
affect is flat or blunt...(shows little or no emotion)
looseness of association... (you blabber phrases that have no meaning but are connected in rhyme)

...do you think you have this 4 signs and symptoms?.. if so you might want to visit a psych doctor to help you cope with your problem.
