ok. my ex and i broke up at the end of last school year. she is now dating one of my good friends. we are both in a group of really good friends. Things have been understandably awkward between us since i found out about her and my friend and we have barely talked since breaking up.

I need a great one liner for when I see her again in august at college to break the awkward tension and to show her that im over her so we can go on being friends. It needs to be witty, intelligent, classy, possibly a classic movie line, mildly sarcastic, and promote an overall sense of coolness and indifference. I'm trying to show that its over, whatever, and im not suffering because of you anymore. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanx!

Why don't you try a heartfelt and sincere one liner, like telling her how good it is to see her and what a new adventure your about to take as.....friends.

I don't understand why you would need a "one liner". Why isn't "Hey, how have you been?" ok to say?? Don't try too hard. She will see right through that... act non chalant...but not overly so.
My ex and I broke up (divorced) because he was a complete jerk. I know if I saw hima agin he would make a crack about my weight gain or something...here's my CLASSY (haha) come back: "well, at least ONE of us has changed..you're STILL an a$$hole!" ;) But, I'll probably never see him again, darn it.
AND, to HOUSE above..OMG..he is SO sexy!!!!

Actually, anything like that will come across as rehearsed and pretty obvious. Just showing up to something with another girl on your arm is the best thing.

Don't even give her the satisfaction. Just move on. The worst thing you can ever do with a girl is give her ammo. And the best way to get over one girl is to go find another...

Maybe you should rethink your situation here. There's an old song that has the line, "I even forgot 555-1347 is your phone number."

In other words, it doesn't sound like you are over this breakup.

You heard the latest Country and Western song? "If your phone doesn't ring, it's me!"

If you need a one liner she is in your head dude...just move on mentally, when you see her just treat her like an acquittance but one that you have zero attraction for...it's called ice water in the veins dude

I would just be polite. Dont say anything rude because you might ruin any chance of a friendship. Girls dont wanna know that your over them. Its better left unsaid.

Get a new girlfriend. Aside from that, just casually ask her how her summer was etc. It's better to be ncie than nasty.

i cant think of a one liner but some more advice anyway is dont say anything mean then u will look bitter. just be really nice and act like you dont care. like your being nice not to hurt her feelings.

Just beam a big smile and say. Miss me? and if she says not really, say, still smiling, I didn't miss me ether, then turn and go on with your life. Of course if she says yes, tell her you missed her too. and go from there.
