it is very difficult, though not impossible. i know a guy out of illinois that got employed as an officer even though he was booked for marijuana possession when he was 14. he's now 38, so when they check out your background they do a little bit of pro/con scaling. the guy had some paralegal experience under his belt also, so some stuff they will overlook if they see you'll be a great benefit.
