I'm 14, and I want to lose weight over the summer. I know to eat less and excercise more, that's obvious.... But can someone give me more specific suggestions? Like maybe suggest certain types of diets that have worked for you, and give details, or any advice.... Thanks. =D

You can't spot reduce. Your body will lose weght where it sees fit.

1.) Eat right- That is the only way to get good results. None of the "no carb" "no fat" bull####. You need a healthy amount of food. About 1200-1500 calories a day intake if you are trying to lose weight. 1500-2000 a day if you are trying to maintain. You may need to eat more than that if you are active in sports or other things.

2.) Exercise- Here we go. To lose weight or tone up, you need two kinds of exercise.
Cardio- This is any exercise that gets your heart rate up, and keeps it up for more than 25 minutes. Running, Jogging, Bike riding, Swimming, Sports, and cardio machines are great ways to get cardio. You can also try different workout videos. Try renting some first, to see if you like it, and then if you do, maybe purchase it.
Strength- This is any exercise that helps you tone up. Crunches, pushups and many exercises you find that target certain areas are probably Strength exercises. If you are trying to tone up a certain part of your body, visit www.toneteen.com . They have many exercises for target zones.

3500 Calories is equal to one pound. This means if you consume 500 less calories a day, workout for till you burn 500 calories, or do a combnation of the two, you will lose 1 pound each week. Say you cut out 300 calories of food, then you need to burn off 200 a day. Simple, isn't it.

There is no fast way to weight loss that will be permanent. What I have written here is a fool proof way to lose weight. Watch what you eat and exercise. If you want to come on here, saying that you have tried exercise and eating right, and it didn't work, you did it wrong.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

I went through stretch marks growth spurts when I was your age. I'm only 22. I started to pack my lunch for school and ate veggies. For teens the only diet plan that will make you lose weight and get rid of stretch marks is no carbs. Any thing con stoning bread wheat or grain. Same. Lots of meat. Working out will help you keep a nice body shape but to lose fat u need to diet.

you are right about exercise, that shall help and summer is a awesome time to do it... get out with your friends, run around, play tag, soccer, baseball, etc......... sports shall keep you moving and therefore, sweating for the most part,w hich shall help............ however, make sure you drink plenty of water... whether it's hot or not, you need to keep your body hydrated... drink lots of water, eat healthy, not so much less, try buying a cheaper exercise dvd from walmart or something and do it either in the evening or morning............ i recommend pilates............ it's fairly simple, doesn't make you sweat (like yoga), and shall help tone all areas of the body...

note: you shall not be able to lose weight in only specific areas, it shall come off from your head to your feet (in that order)... if you really want to go on a diet, talk to your doctor and he/she can recommend a calorie reduced diet although, if you're already a heathy weight, then you don't need to lose any, you just need to maintain that healthy weight...

remember, you want a healthy weight, not a sickly looking body in life... don't base your looks on what you see on magazine covers and stuff............ those girls don't always look healthy, are sometimes sickly thin, and you can be damaging your body just as much by being underweight as overweight...
personally, i would recommend just having fun, being a kid, enjoying your summer, staying active with friends, and talking to your doctor if you truly feel you need to lose weight... talk to your friends and family and see how they feel you look, if they think you need to lose weight (or gain it as the case may be), or simply maintain the weight you are...

good luck, don't growup too fast, being a kid is a good thing... :)
