You can't. Anywhere. Not without parent's permission. Most of the reason you can't is because a marriage license is a legally binding document and you need to be 18 to enter into contractual agreements. Period. If you try to do the quickie wedding in Vegas you won't be able to do it legally either.

If you can't convince them you will have to hold your horses till 18. Thats the way the cookie crumbles honey.

If the person under 16 is an emancipated minor you can get married without parental consent.

Other than that you need parental consent for under 18.

Frankly, go ahead and get engaged, but save the marriage for after you both are 18. That way you don't need permission/consent and you've grown a few more years.

In the United States, all but one state requires that a couple be 18 in order to marry without parental permission. That is Nebraska, where you have to be 19 to marry without parental consernt. There are reasons for these laws!! To the other person that answered, here are the laws in Nevada: If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must have one parent or legal guardian present. A notarized written permission is also acceptable. It must be written in English and needs to state the name, birth date, age of the minor child, along with the relationship of the person giving consent.

You can't. They youngest age that you can get married without your parents consent is 18. Hey, if it is meant to be, it waiting 2 years will only make it that much better! (It will also give you time to save some money for a house, the wedding, the honeymoon... etc!)

You're really a bit too young for marriage, so luckily, you can't get married in the US. If 16 year olds could get married legally without mommy & daddy, then they'd be getting married and divorced as often as they break up and date new people. Ridiculous.

Why would you want to get married without parental consent?

You need to follow these three steps:

1. Both of you need to finish your educations.
2. Both of you need to get good jobs.
3. Then get engaged.

How would you even support yourselves at age 16? How can you expect parents to be happy about your marriage, when you cannot support yourselves?

Dude, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING? You do not have a real job, or a good education. Your fricken 16. Seriously, You really NEED to grow up before you get married. You don't rush into marriage. i get married next year at 22. We both have great Jobs, Mine is in Medicine, and his is in engineering. However we still stuggle at times to get the bills paid.
Grow up a little and wait to join the military at 17 then get married.

i noticed that no one asked if there was a specific reason why you wanted to get married at 16. do you just feel that you love this person or is there another reason. is your gf pregnant? i don't mean to say anything about you or your girlfriend. it's just that sometimes people feel they have to do the right thing by getting married. if this is the situation, you should probably pursue other options. if not, you should probably wait. true love lasts forever.
