well i dont know wat wrong..... WM dosent play them nor does any other program... wen i try it locks up...

You can try with the latest version of Windows Media Player to open the files. If that fails, it could even be an issue with the video card on your machine. Since it's old, there may not be enough video RAM to play certain movies or load some codecs that are required for some movies.

If it is an option, try to upgrade to Win 2000 or Win XP. That may solve some driver/compatibility issues.

y dont u upgrade to something made in this millenium. u should rly upgrade cause 98 is no longer supported by microsoft.
