I was a chevy driver and owner for 25 years, when the majority of parts went south of the border, the quality went with them.
I own a 2002 ford f-150 w/ 100k miles. so far I have replaced
an alternator only.
I also have a company truck, 2002 f-150 4x4, 90k miles, most of those miles have been in very hard terrain, mud, snow, towing.
I believe, and stats prove it, ford makes the best, most dependable pickup thats affordable.

Chevy tends to build a more stylish interior, Ford builds a more durable Heavy Duty chassis and Drive train, the half ton version of either is about equal. The Chevy Diesel is quieter, but the durability of the new Chevy diesel is still up for the Million Truck / 500k per truck test... Ford has that one hands down at last count... The gas engines are competitive but neither stand out in the crowd. Corrosion resistance for both is a problem after ten+ years... Damned if you do, Damned if you do not!

Sorry, but this question won't ever be answered. Everyone is biased. I own a ford and a chevy, and like both. My dad owns a 2500 HD Silverado. 6.6L 360 HP 650 ft/lb torque. I'm pretty sure that can tow anything you'd dream of towing. It's all about your personal preference and whether you want to put the money towards it.

I agree with the one poster.. everyone will be biased... I love my Ford because it feels more like a truck, but I've known people to own all of them and usually it goes back to how the people use them and what they find confortable...

Ford, Chevy's hardly have the power to pull itself let alone tow anything.

Dodge, I get so tired of having to explain it to people, ford and chevy's quality both have sucked in the past ten years or so.
