16th of September my family and I have a week in Falls Creek, NSW. Australia. Having never been there and can't ski due to a motor vehcile accident but have a 2 year old and able husband that I would love to watch. It's certainly a cheap and pretty time to go and if you aren't to fussed about the snow but woukld like a little is this good?

There will still be snow around but whether there is any worth skiing on depends on how the season goes. There has been a good start to the season but there is no way of predicting how the season will unfold. You can't forecast that far ahead.

You will be able to make a snowman and do some tobogganing, there will be enough for that even in a bad season.

By the way, I hope you mean Falls Creek Victoria. There is a Falls Creek in NSW, it is near Nowra on the south coast and nowhere near the snow country.

Hi Tanya,
Very sorry to hear about your motor car accident.
Falls Creek is in Victoria. It's about an 8 hour drive from Sydney and about a 4 hour drive from Melbourne.

In the middle of September there should be good snow coverage. But as the weather starts to warm up it can get a bit slushy. If it's a good snow season, the snow can last to the end of October.

The good thing is the predictions for this years snow season are looking better than the last two years.

If you are driving from Sydney with a 2 year old it might be a good idea to plan an overnight stay half way to break up the long drive.
