Er, if by "our country" you mean "the United States", you may have forgotten that France is an ally of the U.S.
Don't fall for that right wing anti-French nonsense. France stood up for the U.S. when the Bush administration was asking them to betray us.

Well I don't know about that, but there are California, New York and even Texas wines that are every bit as good as anything that the French put out and they cost about half as much. So if you want to waste your money, go for it.
