As far as I've been able to deduce, pain can best be "managed" by avoidance of it in the first place!...
... meaning that if a few simple areas of our lives are attended to, we will have much less problem with pain!
[No, I don't mean quitting the game!!]

- Exercise - surely this will get the blood pumping, the tissues strengthening, and the toxics and wastes moving appropriately through the system, and strengthen the heart as well [says he, with a sprained left thumb for yesterday's effort!]

- Diet - appropriate attention to meeting all the basics of a balanced diet, without too much junk ... and spacing the different kinds of food - timewise, so as to avoid overloading, congesting and confusing the digestive system and its enzymes, etc.

- Sleep - appropriate rest and avoidance of post mid-night bed entry.
As much as possible, live in the daylight and rest at night light

- Sabbath Day observance - one day, proven by medics, to be humanly necessary. But Spiritual observance rests al

Spiritual observance rest all - mind, body and soul from the challenges of earth life generally, and re-invigorates us through communication with God.

Right - Choosing it.
Doing right by other people and by ourselves helps the calming of nerves and settles life's challenges peaceably
Helps elimination of unneeded 'stress' in our lives that we build up through judgment and criticism of others.

Finally,
Drug Avoidance - avoiding harmful drugs and coffee, caffeine, tobacco and strong drink

What do you think?
Do you think that if you cover these areas and principles, this should eliminate the vast amount of excessive pain in our lives??

Certainly, the points you addressed above are healthy choices to make. Unfortunately, some health issues may have a genetic basis which, so far, are unavoidable although possibly treatable. Even so, I agree that the points you made can alleviate many potential health risks and possibly minimize pain and discomfort from unavoidable health problems.

And, what do you say about osteo-arthritis in the severe degenerative stages, with twelve surgeries in five years, screws, wires, cadaver bones holding you together, all from Genetics. Now, what's your answer to this?
I have pain, from one to ten, in the eight to nine category all the time. I'm on a drug control program that doesn't work well due to excess pain. They can only do and give you so much and, keep within society's ranges.

You sound so smug and sure of yourself. I attend mass and light candles every Saturday or Sunday. I live a good life and eat within my parameters, my diet is good. Unfortunately Genetics is something you've forgotten about. We can't change what we are or where we came from, that's it. We do the best we can with what we got.

People like you who don't have problems with health think they have all the answers. I believe your either very naive or a young person who hasn't really been around.

I only hope good luck to you in life and hope your days are covered with sunshine and good health but, I would change me ideas if I were you, you know little of life itself.
