Occam's Razor is a principle of logic. It says that when you are faced with two equal possibilities, the simplest is nearly always right.

How it applies
1-The Universe is eternal
2-The Universe was created by God. God is eternal.

The first is much simpler, the both have the same evidence, so the first is most likely right.

The existance of God can't be disproved- or proved- through a theory of logic or science. The very nature of having faith and believing in something IS NOT based on logic or science. Occam's Razor says the simpliest explanation is right--that could go both ways in proving or disproving God's existance, don't you think? I know this question was to Brett but I liked it and wanted to put my 2 cents worth in--thanks.

I think you mean Occam's Razor which basically states that the simplest answer is often the best answer, although this is not always true. From a scientific perspective it has encouraged the search for a grand unifying theory. From a religious perspective, it would follow that if the universe can be explained without a god, then the best explanation of the universe would be one without a god since gods are the most complex entities in the universe.

Occam's Razor is the logical method that states that the simplest solution is usually the correct one when faced with two equal possibilities.

The idea of a God always existing or coming out of nowhere and zapping everything into existance isn't simpler than the idea that we just exist, and that a divine being had nothing to do with it. They both have the same amount of evidence, so the second one is most likely correct.

He Who Speaks In Science needs a little work:
Occam's Razor is the name of the addage that states:' the simplest explanation is always the best, ad absurdam (into absurdity)' , or as Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes put it " Once you have eliminated the possible, only the impossible remains".
I shall leave you to work out the history, but it does indeed involve "tlting windmills".
And technically, it does not specifically disprove God, it only points to the probability of God, or any deity for that matter being that directly involved in physical creation.

Occam's Razor is a logic method that basically says to not consider an explanation if a simpler one exists. Here's what it has to say about God:
