find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well I am 13 and I weight around 141- 145, The best way for me to loose some extra pounds is to eat natural foods like: nuts, whole wheat bread(no white breads), nut and granola bars, and drink a lot of water. I may not very skinny but I am healthy. I lost 1-2 pounds in the first week, and if I didn't start being aware I would weight a lot more. What ever you do don't starve yourself.

In my opinion, your only answer should be portion control. Find out what a serving size is and go with it . It takes awhile to get satisfied because a serving size seems so small com paired to what we are use to . Do not skip breakfast because that kicks your metalized in to gear for the day so you can start burning calories. Start eating fruits and veggies in between meals even if you dint want them so you wont be as hungry at meal time plus the help control cravings. The best snack ever is a cut up apple w/ vanilla yogurt and walnuts or granola. Or any fruit canned or fresh with amy yogurt and your favorite crunchy cereal , for instance fruit cocktail, peach yogurt , and special K ain't bad. But remember your portions. Too much of ;any thing is bad . But drink plenty of water which helps you shed the fat. And start dancing, dance your little heart out. Close your bedroom door and dance Even if your family isn't much help, if you do these things you cant help but loose or at least stay where your at and at your age if nothing else if you stay the same weight you; will grow in to your weight and most likely loose. Well first of all, I'm a 13 year old guy. Believe me, if he's that picky, he ain't gonna last long. But for yourself, what I do is drink a lot of water, and workout everyday. And on the weekend try to run around the block as many times as you can.

skateboarding really helped me get in shape also the week after i got braces i lost like 15 pounds because i couldn't eat as much as i used to so cut down on your meal sizes and go out side and do some activity 30 minutes a day also it would help to join the YMCA the have tuns of things to help

Hey.
im the same age. i have a freind who is about 40 pounds heavier than you, and she always complains about how fat she is. she never does anything about it. its great that you want to try to do something. i suggest going vegetarian. im a vegatarian, and i jog/ run a mile everyday, and im 89 pounds. just eat healthy, and find a sport that you like, and do it everyday.

Liquid diet. This includes any liquids. Not food that used to be solid and you just threw it in a blender. Liquids that were liquids while in the store. This includes soups. No need for special shakes or drinks. I lost 10 lbs. in two weeks!
