Ruling doesn't necessarily mean dictatorship. To rule means to govern someone. All this verse says is that Adam was to be the head of the family and relationship. It doesn't mean that Eve was his doormat. They were equal partners, but the final decision rested with Adam.
Just like in a company the president has the final word, after he has--hopefully-- listened to the counsel of all the members of the board.
In the same way, marriage is to be two equals, listening to each other's counsel and the husband makes the final decision. He is also then accountable to God for this decision he made for the family.
1.Cor. 11:3 "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,..."
In Ephesians 5 it gives clear instructions how a husband is to treat his wife:
"In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church—" (28-29)

Yes, this is true. Most cultures of women will do this. Not only the Christian women, but all women from all over. The men rule and should be desired. It is called Love.

You are twisting things around my friend. What God said in Genesis was a prophecy not a command. And in fact some translations make it even harsher... he will DOMINATE you say some.
That said... Man WAS, although it's hard for some to accept, placed as head of the family.... but he was instructed to exercise that headship the way Jesus exercised his headship over the Christian congregation.... he delivered himself up for it... sacrificed his life in other words. There's a big difference between domination and loving headship.

Were I to get married, I would see this more as me looking to my husband for protection and advice then him ruling over me. In a marriage that works the way God designed it to, the woman would give herself completely to her husband, and the man would give himself completely to his wife, throwing the question of who rules whom out of the window.

read it in the proper context. The man should be the head of the house and disciplinarian, the man should love and respect the woman, the woman should love her husband and respect him and nurture her children. Look at nature, The male always is head over the female but for Christians, its not in a demeaning way. Look at how the God in flesh (Jesus) treated women. In the days in jewish culture where women were treated with very little respect, Jesus treated women with the utmost respect.

If she's a good Christian woman she will obey her husband. I see so many marriages break down because the husband allows his wife to do what she wants when she wants. They end up in bars getting drunk and becoming lesbians.

My wife has no problem submitting to me since I love her. You should read Ephesians Chapter 5 again, and the whole thing this time. Read what the husband must do... it's a lot of work. Pretty hard loving your wife and ruling over her at the same time. If you ever find a way this can be done, please tell us all.
