We're at 6 billion currently. How many have died since Homo Sapiens walked into Europe and Asia from Africa is unknown. Mormons don't believe in any of that science mythology anyway, so we can only go back 6000 years. of a decreasing population size, plus the nearly innumerable casualties in the Nephite battles, the figure could be approximately fixed at several zillion jillion 'spirits' all waiting for their baptism for the dead.

There might needs to be an 'escrow' amount or 'down payment' figure to get started. God had "two", so the initial investment seems resonable.

This falls in the area of doctrine that we really don't know alot about. What is essential for us to know on earth is the doctrines of salvation and the principles of the gospel. This is one of the mystery's of God that we have a little peek of, but not one that is really understood. I understand it that as Isaiah 55:8-9 points out - God's ways are higher than ours, and we can't understand it all at this time with our clouded mortal view. Because of that - there are no specific answers for the string of questions you asked on the subject. Pearly gates :)

given that spirit children need human bodies, I suppose a god and his wives don't start having spirit children until they are capable of creating worlds and creating the first people on that world (unless you're a speculative Brigham Young in which case you don't have to create bodies, because God is Adam) (I don't think the worlds are given to them, I think they create them)
