I am running AOL IM 6.0. I keep getting this window pop up ... like every five minutes ...The following update is ready to install. AIM(R) Software - 6.1 GM Update: This version delivers new features and important security updates. Select "Install Now" and upgrade today.

I don't want to upgrade. How can I make it stop.

In fact I want to downgrade and go back to an older version.

But the pop up is from AOL?

Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner like http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html and http://www.ewido.net/en/

You need to activate AOLs popup blocker. It won't block your windows upgrades though it's telling you that you have upgrades that are ready to install.

same thing happens to me, and my friend said she click upgraded and then clicked cancel and it stopped for her. but i tried that and it only stopped for a few days, see if it works for you. if you find out let me know, cuz its sooooooo annoying. thanks.

if u wanna downgrade, just uninstall your new aim and go to aim.com and install the version you want. thats what im going to do cuz aim 6.0 is way too much for me.
