Nope, sorry, can't agree with you there. My Bible tells me that "whatsoever I ask for, believe and I shall receive." It also tells me that I have the authority to ask anyting in Jesus' name according to His will, and I can have it. What people fail to understand is that God is not a Genie - He does not sit high and grant irresponsible and wicked requests. Everything is working together for my good and therefore, the things I pray for must line up with His will for my life. Also, blessings are always ours- he cares for us, our need (s) are met daily. And there are many other things that we may desire and He has also said he would give us the desires of our hearts. I believe in prayer and I know that prayer can change things and people. I have prayed long and hard for my fiance and some special situations he was in. My prayers were answered, but it was because I had faith that walked in the faith of Jesus that this man would have a changed heart. And the seed was planted in good soil. Others came along and watered and helped to fertilize that soil. When the time came, it wsas harvest. A decent mant was returned to me. One with a clean and changed heart - one who had let go of his past and welcomed his present and future of goodness and love. I believe in prayer -and I know prayer does work and prayers have been answered. I know too many people who could tell you the same -

But prayer does work! I know from personal experience.

However,

you must pray to the true God through his son
you must be a righteous person --
-- preferably one of his baptized servants
-- and yes, God does say no just like human parents do
-- other times, some answers take years to be answered
------ those that think that they get prayers for material riches granted are mistaken
------ God does help us with medical problems, but marginally for a reason ---- in this system of things, we are supposed to grow old and die, which means getting ill.

So, read the model prayer and see what we are supposed to pray for.
Also read this:
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence which we have towards him: That, whatsoever we shall ask according to his will, he heareth us. (DRC)

--ACCORDING TO HIS WILL - really limits things that are answered positively a lot.

You must also believe that a microphone and a speaker in communications is an illusion.
You shouldn't listen to the radio or watch the television, for speakers and microphones are necessary for both, and communication of these forms are an illusion, in your opinion.

If however you believe these to be real then you should examine prayer at greater length, and repudiate it yourself,
before making such a unfounded accusation.
Maybe you just need to clean your circuit boards out a little!

Give a shot and find out if your hypothesis is valid!

I don't know where your information came from, but its always worked for me. You have to believe God to answer that prayer,If you ask for it in Jesus name it shall be done.. .....But you have to believe it with all your heart, you have to have Faith. And just because it isn't answered in the amount of time you think it should be does not mean its not going to be. Don't stop praying and asking God for it, If you stop asking, then you probably won't receive it. And ask Big, we serve a mighty God, Who can do anything!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer works for me and has for 57 years. I guess you must chalk it up to faith. You know when people pray they pray for money and if they don't get it they are mad at God. Well I pray to God for things out of my control. Of course I'd like to win the lottery, but I save my prayers for health and things like that.

I have had some very complicated prayers answered to specification--too odd to be coincidence.

Prayer does work. Maybe you should do more of it and you'll find out.

When it comes to love, it doesn't. I have repeatedly prayed for a special someone to enter my life. Well, I'm 35 and still waiting. All my friends have met someone and moved on with their lives, getting married, having children, etc.

I'm beginning to think some people are destined for loneliness.

Oh contraire, prayer works very well. Perhaps the belief is not so strong.
