I was raised in a VERY strict religion. It's one that most people have never heard of. I was forced to go to this church until I turned 15. At that time I pulled myself out and began to live life the way I wanted to. I now live life like most "normal" people do. I will not step foot into a church but I am very spiritual. I will never allow anyone else to tell me what I have to believe or what is right for me in my life. I will live my life the way I choose to from here on out.

I stopped after forcing myself to go because I thought it 'was the best thing' for my son. I knew it didn't feel right to me but, I grew up with my Grandparents taking me to church and it seemed like a pretty good 'jumping off point' so I wanted him to have the same. I just couldn't sit there and feel like a hypocrite anymore. I send him to his paternal Grandparent's house on the week-end, if they want to say anything about me being a witch is the reason he's not a Christian then I can say he was at your house on Sundays not mine.

I grew up having to go to a Lutheran church, and the liturgy was always the same, stand up, sing this, sit down, say this, and on and on... just boring and deadening.
After I left home, for my education in nursing, I didn't go to church for a few years, but linked up with a Bible study group for young adults. There was not formality or liturgy, just normal people, wearing their everyday clothes and acting REAL. No pious blather. In time I found out that true faith in God is meant to be a personal RELATIONSHIP with Himself... and I have enjoyed this relationship with God for over thirty years now.

The gossiping, the controversy, the lying, the hate. I mean, seriously, respect something that is to be called the "House of God". But many of the people were so rude and fake. =\ Its just wrong...prayer is more of a personal thing to me anyways. I'm sure God understands. =)

It's a bit pointless to go to church when you're an atheist. When I go to church now, it is because a friend is doing something there, or they're doing some kind of charity that I wish to help out with.

I came to the realization that religion was created by man in order to justify his own existance.
And why is everyone's religion the only one that will get someone to heaven? Because they say so.

Sin is the violation of one or more of the tribal taboos of an ancient desert people.
In other words, it doesn't mean anything at all.
