Traffic, cost of living............ oh did I mention the traffic?

Well, I am not sure how many people would call me ordinary, but I will mention some of the problems I have...Traffic, its the worst no clarification needed. Cost of living, I make really good money here, but cant afford a home, unless I want to work just to make a huge mortgage payment. Panhandlers, they're at the banks, stores, parking lots everywhere. Police helicopters, they do a really good job at waking me up in the middle of the night by flying low and making my windows rattle. Restraunts, if you want to eat at a decent place, expect to wait for a table for a long time if you have no reservations. Service, in LA customer service in stores, restruants, almost everywhere you go, just is subpar people seem to be more interested in texting their loved ones rather than your business. Cleanliness, LA is not a clean place at all, you will find trash in many areas, oh and graffitti, and now it seems to fight the graffitti, they seemed to put constatine wire around freeway signs. Going to a convenience store, and the clerk is behind 2 inches of Bulletproof glass. Prejudices they exist here, probably one of the worst cities in the US. I could go on, but dont get me wrong, there are so many good reasons and conveniences living here that I wouldnt even think about moving out of the area, but those are some difficulties I have.

Without a doubt the traffic. Statistics will say that 9 out of 10 cars on the freeways have only one person in it. The other one that amazes me is that the average household has 2.8 automobiles.

The weather is fantastic though, but stay near the coast. We use to say there is no life beyond the 405! LOL Of course that is easy to say, I live on the beach.

Where else can you go surfing in the morning, snow skiing in the afternoon and to a rockin concert at night. But.... Make sure you have the $$$$ You just plain hemmorage dollars in LA.

Jo----I would guess the top 3 are:
1. Traffic (it's important to live near work)
2. Housing Costs (work where housing costs less)
3. Smog (car pool)

First of all, I would debate whether any of us is "normal."

Be that as it may, we're annoyingly optimist lot. We smile happily as we are stuck in traffic, because, we collectively think, at least it's not raining.

As hills around us burn to the ground due to record drought and serial arsonists, choking the already polluted air with smoke and ash, we hum softly to ourselves and say, "The skies were too blue anyway. This is easier on the eyes."

And as the valleys heat up to 125 degrees in summer, and to temps high enough in Palm Springs to re-vulcanize our tires, we gaily say to each other, "Well, this is the price we pay for not having snow."

But that's just my opinion.

traffic can be annoying sometimes.

i don't like ****** drivers.

i have lived here my entire life, and yet, once college was over, it became practically impossible (or so it seems) for me to make friends or meet people to date. that is incredibly frustrating.

it also bums me out that I have lived here my entire life, but trying to strike out as an independent adult, i find that I can barely afford to live here.

nikeofsilence sounds like he lives in hell. or is really just a fearful person.

yesterday it took me over an hour to go half a mile. so you will become patient with traffic or die of insanity. also it's very expensive, hot and dry.
