Hi there! Labs are adorable :) I wish I could bottle their energy sometimes!!!
Please no Q-tips!!!! You could be doing a lot more harm than good. Instead, go to your vet and get a good ear cleaner. Oticalm is my absolute favorite. I have a Newfie who had problems with ear infections in rescue (she LOVES the water!), but ever since using Oticalm once every week, she is infection free. I love that stuff!!
You put a few drops in, massage the ear, and then using a cotton ball clean the inside of the ear (only the part you can see- do not go into the canal!). Don't worry about not getting all the solution out, it has a drying factor, so it will quickly dry out on its own... so you don't have to worry about infection.
Good luck!
Smooch to your baby!!

Check out azmira.com for natural solutions.
Try to keep the ears dry. We used to have a lab that had this problem, she would play with the sprinkler and the water would get in her ears leading to infection.

My husky/Rottweiler has one really bad ear (he has one ear that hangs) and the vet says he's a yeast factory. Buying a clipper and *carefully* trimming any extra hair in that vicinity may keep the humidity down as prick eared dogs usually don't have that problem. There are also drops and washes your vet can have you try and some work okay, some not so much.

Non-scented baby wipes will do just fine. Just make sure to rip the baby wipe in half. This is so if she has an infection in one ear, it doesn't spread to the other ear. Also, you should smell her ears, if they smell bad, she has an infection. If they smell like a dog, she is good to go.

Take your dog into the vet for the proper diagnosis and treatment. Home remedies off the internet can be dangerous.
