The job will start first thing in July so there's only a few weeks left until the company knows who they want to hire.

There are 100's of resumes that come in for one position. It can take a couple of months before the hiring manager or HR contacts you.

Ummm....I understand your concern but you have started worrying too early. Companies give themselves a lot of time when it comes to recruiting people (gathering resumes, cover letters and everything else necessary, like references and so on). After that, the interview lasts one to two days, if it is cummulated. After the interview, there must be at least another week in which they make their choice...or...organize a second interview.

Bottomline....you should wait at least 3 weeks without worrying. After this, you can call and ask about your status.

By the way....have you followed up or have you enhanced your interest?

If the job was offered on Monster.com, CareerBuilder, Craiglist, etc. (electronic means), employers will typically receive 5000 applicants for that position. Granted 2% of the applicants actually are applicable for the position, but that's about 50 to choose from.

A job application will not be sent to you that is not how it works you sent in your resume that is your application, I would call them to see if they received it and to what your status is, in most cases it does take more than a week to process all the applicants

Some businesses take a maximum time of two months to respond while others take a day.

I think you mean references, not referees.
