The Holy Land, the land that God gave the Israelites after the Exodus, is much bigger than just the city of Jerusalem.

Hi, when you hear the term holy land, this will mean
a few different things. To some it means the Kingdom of David, to others What Abraham was promised, to others what the UN decided in 1947.
To Jews and Muslims it begins on the Mount of Jeru where The Dome of the Rock is, to Christians at the Garden Tomb at Golgatha. To modern jews maybe Tel Aviv. But it means Israel and The West Bank, The Golan Heights, The Negev.

Actually the "Holy Land" is reference to the land that God promised to Abraham and his descendants after him and was much larger than what today we know by the name of Israel. Originally it was known as "Canaan's Land," due to the fact that it was inhabited by the descendants of Noah's grandson, by that name. The totality of the "Holy Land" might also include Mecca and Medina because of their historical significance to Islam.
According to evangelicals that adhere to a disensationalists view of eschatology Israel plays a role in endtime prophecy whereby they support the eviction of Christian Arabs (Palestinians) from Israel and finance the return of Jews to this "Holy Land," in order that their endtime misinterpretation of scripture can be realized whereby another Jewish holocaust in which 2/3rds of the Jews will be killed by the wrath of God. However they see this as a "Love" for Israel and God's "Chosen People." Go figure....

It is known as the Holy Land to those that are not properly educated in the Bible. John in Revelation refered it to Sodem and Egypt.

Jerusalem is the Devil's fire hydrant of human misery.
After Pandora opened Mercury's box and allowed all the horrors of the world to escape there remained crushed at the bottom... Hope. None of that obtains in Jerusalem.
