So, Maxie follows my mom EVERYWHERE. He waits at the door for her. We used to think he wanted to potty, but no. We would take him out, he would see Mommy not there, and run back inside to search her room.
He did this with his previous owner to. Followed everywhere!! He follows Mom around the house, out the door, and tries to go into the bathroom with her!!
My mom doesn't even cuddle and pet Max as much as everyone else does. She is probably the least pettfull to Max.
At this moment he is WHINing and WHINING at the door. Screaming and barking, and we let him out, he barreled straight toward her and sniffed to ensure it was her.
We adopted him 3 or so years ago, and it has been getting worse the last few weeks. Why? Does anyone else's dog do this?
I think it is some sort of seperation anxiety. I think that because he used to rip paper up while we were gone, and then he started the following of mom when she was gone. Please help. PLEASE!!

Our dogs follow me everywhere, even the bathroom. They watch me all the time and run to me outside. Yet everyone pets them. Why? They do this because I feed them and tend to their physical needs.

Does your mom do most of the feeding?

I'm not sure. But my dog always followed my Mom around, even though she gave him little attention and I was the one who fed the dog, played with and petted her. My dog followed her because in doggie world, Mom was the head of the pack. There are little signs a dog picks up on to decide who's leader, and maybe that's what your dog has done. And it's instict to appease the leader, so maybe that's why the dog follows her around. However, your dog sounds really tense. I'd take her to the vet maybe. Also, I recommend you join a dog forum - you can get way better answers than here. Just google "dog forum" and sign up free for one.

Why do you think this is such a problem?
Well maybe you should bring him to a vet to make sure he is alright. If i were you i would also bring my mother to the doctors due to the fact that dogs sense things that humans don't.

Also it could be that the dog is seeking more attention from your mother. I think you should tell your mother to pet him and praise him more, (before you spend your money on doctors and such.

also it may be normal due to the fact that your dog was doing this with its previous owner.

I wish you all the best and good luck.

Has your mo been to teh doctors lately??
some dogs can sense a problem you aren't aware of. I knewe a dog like that and it got to the point the dog would jump in the womans lap and start nibbling at her breast she found out a month later that she had breast cancer.
Also they may be something wrong with the dog and is seeking help form teh one it's attached to you may need to take it to the vets.
