I am thinking about purchaseing an egg. But, i can't find ANYTHING on the net that says how to! right now i have 1 cockatiel that my grandmagave me after she got it from an abusive family. my bird and i have a strong bond and i think i am ready for another bird to raise from the egg stage

Wow, that's a big responsibility to take on, especially if you are in school or have a job.
First of all, you can't be sure that your female will sit on the egg.
Secondly, if you use an incubator, the bird you have now, might not except it after it hatches.
Then you have to hand feed it so that it will be healthy and strong...............and so you can bond with it.
If you want to go through all of that, then you're going to have to buy a gram scale and keep track of the weight of the fledgling in each stage of developing.
Maybe you should talk this over with the person you're getting the egg from................do some homework on that too.........maybe they are just selling them to make extra money........you know that they can't guarantee that the egg will hatch?
Check out all the pros and cons of this venture...............that's the best thing to do.

It is illegal to purchase a parrot egg. They are smuggled into the U.S. and this is endangering the wild bird populations of the countries they are being smuggled from. I am a professional in pet retail and if you want a baby bird, buy a pair of parakeets, zebra finches or purchase a hand fed bird that is already weaned.
