The easiest and most pain free way is to use the "sonic" blast. This si when they put you in a tank of water and hit you with a directed blast of sound thru the water. This breaks up the stone to let it pass easily. Believe me, Ive passed 3 stones, and you don't wanna go thru it.

It isn't painful at all.It isn't actually removed by laser it is dissolved,so that you can pass it.It takes about 5 minuets and you pee sand for about 3 days.Been there done that.
