don't know why you've had this onset of nightmares. (whats your age?)
I've had the same problem. I can't say they where nightmares (I like nightmares though) but extremely intense dreams, everynight and multiple dreams a night. I would often wake up in the middle of them.
it was effecting my sleep so much I had to do something.
Unfortunattly I found alcohol solved my problems, but then I found myself an alcoholic and spent a lot of money on it. So don't do it.

try to find the puzzle in your dreams and try to solve it in your waking life. the more you think about it, or try to solve the internal struggle, the more they will dissolve.

yes, don't ponder on them, try to solve them. (what are they about btw?)

I've really gotten better with the drinking and now accept my dreams with open arms and find them a nice little fictional getaway. They've gotten better with my change in additude toward them. It does take time though.

There may be problems in your life that you need to fix before you stop having these. I know this by experience when i was little like 7 years old i would get up and sleep walk and go in the middle of the hallway and would start screaming my mom would come out and my dad and i wouldnt let my dad touch me and would only calm down when my mom came near me. This is more because of the fact that my dad is an alcoholic and that he used to abuse my mom once my mom and him broke up and got divorced and he left the house i was fine. Night terrors are very odd considering you look awake but you are haldf awake and half asleep and feel very wierd inside atleast thats what i felt i would then go back to sleep like nothing happened but once this happened so many times i would get up and ask my mom if it happened again and she said yes and im like wierd hmmm.... It all depnds on the events that are happening around you. Hope this helps. This site should help you. I know its for children but sthe same applies with adults.

You need to tell us what the nightmares are about. The things you are dreaming about often symbolize something other than the obvious. For instance-if you dream about a disaster it could mean you are in for some good luck.

You must mention God's name before sleeping and read protective verses on / to yourself. I recpommend the following: Make du'a (supplication) such as the following:

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Baqarah 2:286

Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maulâ (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

If the nightmares are always with the same subject, it may be your subconscious telling you something important.
If, they aren't similar, probably you are very worry or sad.
Try watching a movie or something really positive (that you enjoy) before going to bed.

You're setting yourself up for failure by thinking about them all the time... re-programme yourself with some positive thoughts about something you love for an hour before you go to bed.

Or get some Lunesta, that will drop you no matter what!

Are they consistent with any theme? Have you done anything your guilty about? Or anything you worried or scared about.?
