My Nissan Skyline is 11 years old and drives and looks like new.
My last Nissan Skyline was 15 years old and again was owning a new car.
Both have been looked after and thats the name of the game.
Too the Ford reply,i changed to Japanese cars after i gave up on Fords etc as the Ford etc engines even when looked after couldnt compete against the Japanese quality and long lasting parts.
Try www.carsurvey.org for honest answers from owners of both the Altima and Accord and take it from there.

If I was given the choice, I'd have to say Honda. Nissans have had a few build quality issues lately. Since 2002 the Altimas have had an issue with loose panels, premature discoloration on the dash from the sun and an issue with the bolts in the intake manifold actually working themselves loose on the 2.5 models. Nissans used to be great cars but around 2000-2001 model year, they started having build quality issues. To prove that I'm right, Nissan just hired former Toyota engineers to help correct the build quality issues that they are having. Honda's 4 cylinder Accord has been virtually trouble-free. It may look bland and not have as much power compared to the Altima, but the resale value is much higher, maintenace costs on the Accord are lower, and the fit and finish is of higher quality. I've always liked Nissan for their performance and reliable powertrains, but as an all around car, the Accord (or even the Camry) are better choices. That's why they are in higher demand.

I had a Nissan Altima for 10 years and it worked great. I loved it! Last year I bought a 2006 Nissan Altima and I love it. The 2007s are really nice, I wish I would have waited. Go for it, you'll love it!
My husband has a Nissan pick up and it is 13 years old and runs great!

Hondas are the lowest quality cars ever. They burn oil and their cars are bologna. Nissans last for a very long time, and it's an excellent choice to get an Altima. The 2007 Altima is a beautiful car.

In reply to those who say it's a Japanese car (Altima and Accord) - well, if you're in North America, they are manufactured in North America, and have been for quite some time (Altima is built in Smyrna, TN and the Accord is built in Marysville, OH). So technically, they are American cars if they are built here.
Both are pretty reliable and if maintained well, can provide many years of service.

evaluate this Toyota have been on JD capability appropriate ten high quality lists for over 10 years with numerous entries each and according to annum. The Nissan is a youthful vehicle, however. the two a style of vehicles are high quality automobiles, besides the shown fact that the Corolla is mythical for sturdiness. right here is what i might do. Assuming you have dealt with the two automobiles, and that they are the two working nice. i might shop the single that is paid off, and sell the single with the be conscious. in case you hold doing the regualr maintenance, there is not any clarification why youy cant get 300K out the two of those automobiles.

Probably the same hundred thousand miles as most other cars - what shape it is in depends on the driver and the maintenance. Go look at the Blue Book values for used cars and the penalty for extra mileage - cars that wear out faster have a higher penalty

they should last a long time if their built half as good as the sentra is,i own a 20 year old sentra that still gets around 44 miles to the gallon, still runs and drives good and has around 165 thousand on it,and I'm still running on the original clutch also,so if the altima is half as goods as the sentra is ,it will last really good,i have been really pleased with mine, and probably my next new one will be an altima also,i like the dependability of them a good running Nissan wont ever let you down ,good luck ,hope this helps.
