Dear Pixi,
Santa actually came about because there was a gentlemen by the name of St. Nicholas who was kind to those who were less fortunate.
It's not Santa that takes the focus off of Jesus. The Bible woud call it the world system. Even if you took away Santa and presents- the world would not necessarily focus on Jesus' birth.
i think that Christians must accept that the way that the world celebrates Christmas is not the same as the way Chrisitans celebrate Christmas first of all because the birth and death and resurrection of Christ is insignificant to those who don't know Christ. Christmas is a wonderful time i think to share that with other people- and to teach them that God himself gave the world a gift in His Son Jesus Christ.
You're running against the wind if you try to change the world or expect the world to believe all the same things that you do- but you faithfully reach those that you can - and leave the results up to God. That person you touch can become the next Billy Graham or Greg Laurie.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

Santa is of this world and this is a way that children get presents without the parents being liable for them....Also it teach adults that giving gifts to people you care about is festive and a time to celebrate giving....Like the God's giving of his Son Jesus and the way the wise men brought presents that last a life time for the baby. How would we know how to give a gift if we first did not receive one. So Christian should be very careful about this holiday but if they celebrate the life of Christ than no it is not a devil holiday. Worship the Lord everyday and then even when a holiday comes you will know how to make it special for everyone

santa is an idol that people worship all over the world.
Jer 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go

Santa Clause is actually St. Nicholas. He was a saint.
I admit that Christmas has become very comercialized, but Santa has not taken the place of Jesus. Maybe he has enhanced the season, to make it alittle more child-friendly.
Also, there are alot of people that don't celebrate the birth of Jesus, so why not give them something so that they can also enjoy the holiday season without betraying their religion?
The Easter bunny is not a spawn of Satan, is he?

You're taking two different names from two completely different languages and trying to actually make an anagram out of them?
Were you aware that the name Jesus is not hebrew and actually comes from the greek "ieousus" which means sky god? stop and think about the absurdity of your question.
First of all, if Jesus existed (and that's a big if, given that there is no historical evidence for his existence) he would've been born sometime around the end of september or beginning of october, when shepherds actually were in the fields, and would've been born in a sukkah during the feast of Sukkot and not a manger.
considering that the jews of that time did not celebrate birthdays (a pagan tradition), why on earth do you do it now?
Because the Catholic church deemed it a holy day to overshadow the pagan Winter solstice celebrations of that time.. trying to gain power and control over the dominions of Rome. honestly, try a study of history for a change.

lolol I don't know about being Satan, but he is anti Christ definetly. On top of what you said, he also supposedly has godly attributes that should belong to only God such as the ability to know the hearts of "good children and bad children" and to know what their deeds have been and also to be omnipresent. And I won't mention the "red" suit. It's a silly point but I think your right.

Very insightful you are. If you're a believer in God, then Santa could very well be Satan. After all, when the kid finally discovers Santa doesn't exist, what's to stop them from linking that lie to the one about God.... causing them to rebel against all that faith stuff.

Well there IS a spell check button.
Oh, sorry, back to your original question.
Um, no since I don't believe in Satan. Even if he was Satan, cool. Satan's pretty nice, then, giving presents to good little boys and girls.
