Me. Land is no longer something you can hold without the will of the people that live there. It's true, any occupying force can be resisted. Think Russians in Afghanistan or Americans in Vietnam. Unless the people are on your side it doesn't work no matter how many troops you send in. The Iraqi people are not with us because we said we were only invading because of WMD. When we didn't find any WMD we tortured them and still didn't find any. We lost this war the instant we invaded under false pretenses. The Iraqi people will never be with us, and the damage we have done will last generations.

I would love to see our troops out of Iraq within the year. However, it isn't up to me. I didn't get elected President, and I didn't join the military so it's none of my business. My son is in the military and he loves what he does. He doesn't think about doing anything else. If I told him I wanted him home, instead of fighting for what he believes in, he would tell me to . . . . uh. . . . .I can't really say it on here.

Yes! Why? We should not have been there in the first place and we are NOT fight terrorism! We are fighting a civil war we helped create.
Bush has no intention of leaving IRAQ EVER! We have to protect "our" oil, and Iraq has the 5th largest untapped reserve.
Exxon and others are pulling millions of barrels out of Iraq every month while our prices go up at the pump and our kids die and are wounded while Bush cuts their hospital budget and widows benefits!!!
If Exxon wants the oil so damn bad, they can hire their own damn army. They can afford it!

I do. First the longer we stay the more the different factions will have time to arm. And the bigger the blood bath is going to be when we leave.
Second we do not have near enough men to do the job. If we are going to stay it is going to take at least 500,000 or more troops to secure the country.
Third our volunteer military as a whole is too small to do the job. Not even men or women.
Fourth we need to get back focused in El Qeada in Afghanistan.

I do, because what is happening is a catostrophe. I want the boys home defending our country here on our soil. Our troops are too spread out. It is not their job to make a country a democracy, it is their job to defend our country. Iraq isn't a threat so we need to leave. There is a civil war going on there and they need to fight it themselves.

80% of Shiites and 40% of Sunnis would accept Muqtada al Sadr as thier leader, that sounds like a majority to me. Hand him the keys and leave. He may not be our choice but he hates Al Quieda and that is who we are supposed to be fighting.
Maybe we can be friends in the future like Vietnam.

yes because it is a waste of tax money and keeps making the prices of everything sky rocket. I personally want them out of there sooner.
