Honestly, the only two games that are good that I have (I have five games) are Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Resistance: Fall of Man. And even still, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is more for comic book fans. The other games are pretty much average.
If you're aiming for recommendations for buying games, I recommend you wait to buy games. A lot of good games are coming out soon, so just wait.

Motor Storm, FEAR, Fall of Man: Resistance, any 2K sports game, Ridge Racer 7 (if your into Racing Simulations), and also check their ratings at http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3 or http://www.gamespot.com/ if the rating is high get it! That's what i do, i usually go for the top 10 games.

FPS - Call of duty 3, resistance - the fall of men.
Fighting - Virtua fighter 5
But still... we have to wait for 'em better games.

Definitely Resistance:Fall of man and Madden is good if you like football.
