Why it is that traffic is much worse during Fridays than during any other day of the week?

People are going away for the weekend. It's also pretty bad on Sundays, when the same people are coming home from their weekend trips.

It makes logical sense, because most people are either traveling to get out of the city or through the city to get home quicker to enjoy their weekends.
Sometimes during the weekdays, many people don't leave precisely at 5 o'clock, because they want to finish a project or two before they go home. It is like this in my office. Most of the office workers are staying after 5, however, when it is 5 on Fridays, there seems to be a mad rush to get out of the door, so they can get home, enjoy their families, and enjoy a two-day weekend, if they have that many days.
Also, some people may be traveling out of town for either vacation or to visit friends, relatives, or just some out of town plans they made, and this causes more traffic on the roads.
People tend to be more in a hurry on Fridays, because they have plans, and they want to get home so they can go out, etc.
That's why you see a lot of reckless drivers, speeders, accidents, rude people cutting in and out, etc., on Fridays more than on any other day of the week.

They want to just get home for the weekend while some go to restaurants and bars on that night. Fridays during football season, players, coaches, band, cheerleaders, drill team, fans, and many others are getting to football games and back to where they came from.

Because the people that got off work before you are already on the road, to start either their vacation, or their weekend. Most people are traveling on the weekends and there you go. Good luck

Maybe because everybody is in a big hurry to get home to start their weekend or could be cause lots of people are on their way out of town. Maybe?
