Okay, i dropped out of high school when i had my son.

I have 33 credits right now, and i want to continue on to get my high school diploma, because i only need 11 more, plus 1 regents.

I'm 19 and i will be 20 next month, What should i do?

Should i go and get my diploma, or get my G.E.D.?

They have a Y.A.B.C program that i could go to but there only giving like 3 credits per semester. I doubt i could enroll back into day High school. So what should i do?

Oh, and if you know any programs in the Bronx that i could go to so i can get my diploma, please let me know in advance.

Thank you.

Congratulations for desiring to complete your high school education! You are helping to insure a brighter future for you and your child.
Since you are a few years older now, I suggest that you study to get your GED. Employers look kindly upon someone who has had a rough start, but have the diligence to complete studies for their diploma. Attending a traditional high school is probably not for you at this point in your life. I am not certain what a YABC Program is, but it appears that this would take a long time to complete. Check out the public schools in your area to see if they have night GED preparation classes, or perhaps you could find one online. There are also study guides for GED preparation available at most book stores. Best of luck in your quest!

Literacy Volunteers of America and many high schools offer free tutoring for the G.E.D. I doubt that you can go back to regular high school because of your age, so you can't get a diploma from your high school. You might speak to the school administrator to determine if you can take a Regents when it's given in August. Or you could get the G.E.D., go to a community college afterwards. You'll be eligible once you pass your G.E.D. exams.

Do you have a social worker? The GED sounds like the safest bet to me, but your SW may know alternative programs for women in your situation. Shake some answers out of him or her before making a choice.

At that point, if day highschool isn't an option, I would suggest getting a GED.

GED's are just as good as highschool diplomas.
