The English wording is very bad in this sentence and it isnt at all clear.
She wasnt there in the first place and was just a reflection of a woman standing behind or beside him when he looked through the window.

Okay so it was HIS reflection. The figure was not then real. I could've been a halloween costume that he saw as HIS RELFLECTION. Or hes insecure and gay. =) lol
