Having a small town mentality is not just a cliche, it's the truth. And men are terrotorial no matter where they live. It's the nature of the beast.

umm.. what exactly do you mean, territorial? I'm from a small Southern town and I moved to the big city, so I've seen both types of men. The main difference between small town guys is they have this idea of loyalty. They think they have to be extremely loyal to their friends, country, state, etc. Its to the point that they won't leave any of those things or talk negative about them (even whenever they need to!) Put up some more info and i can explain better, if you tell me what you mean and why you need to know.

My experience has been that small towns are like small cliques and they don't cater to "new folk" coming into town and settling down. Take Burnet, Texas for instance. It is close to Austin Texas and more and more people have been moving out that way and it has changed the demographics tremendously, (for the better I think) and the "old guard" just can't handle it. It went from Democrat to Republican and that was the last straw for many. Nice place to visit but would not want to live there unless I was born there or related to someone there.

Living in a small town is great yep we have our own ways but we are friendly and always welcome people with a smile. In the big smoke we can not even get a hi out of people its like they just cant spend the time to be friendly to busy i guess. All men are territorial it goes way back to caveman days. Protect ones family and home.

I wouldn't have thought so before moving to East Tennessee, where people are as provincial as I've ever observed. In most places, though, modern transportation and communications combine to make most small town folks fairly sophisticated socially and politically.

lol---i just moved from orlando to a small country town, and let me tell you its like a different world!! the people are generall friendlier, but the guys are very mean when messed with, and will do anything to protect their women, family, and friends. they are not wimps at all!!! they are the exact opposite of the pretty boys i used t kow. and they're *games* are different too. i think they are trickier :)

NO WE ARE NOT!!!
In small town we know everyone and vice versa.... i live in city now very very different walk down street say hello to people i get strange looks at first.......We mind our manners and respect people more... city folk so used to not knowin people they build walls around their personal space

have you read some of the questions on here? asking about "the jews" "immigrants" and all sorts of other small-minded things? these people can't be living in LA or NY or Miami....
