Hey, so I got hired at this clothing retail store, and they told me I was hired on Monday (6/11) pretty recently after the interview (6/6). They said they would call by yesterday, Friday (6/15) if one got the job or not, so I made the cut off pretty well. Well, they told me schedules had already been printed so they'll call me later in the week....they never called, so today I called them and they said that my name is in the system, but I don't have any hours because I haven't had orientation yet (4 hours). They told me to call back at 4. So i called back about 10 minutes ago, and the nice lady I was supposed to talk to wasn't there (yet she told me to call), and this other person told me to call monday at noon. I'm getting kind of scared now....anybody help me? This is American eagle

Just hang in there and be patient. Some times things happen that people don't plan on and they are not available. Call Monday at noon, or even stop by before lunch and maybe you can get the orientation done that afternoon.

I would try to relax if I were you. As I'm sure you know things in retail can get hectic, and you take a break when you can get one. Her not being there was not a slight against you. My advice is to call Monday. Things are slower at the beginning of the week and they'll have more time to talk. Don't take it personally, and congratulations!!!

That your name is in the system is a good sign. Don't worry too much about anything else. Call back on Monday like they said. HR people are always being called to put out one fire or another, and are rarely in their office when they think they will be.

Relax, things go crazy during the day at work when in management many fires to put out. Call again on monday it will work out trust me

Sounds like the managers need to get organized. Call the head manager and ask her when the orientation is, and verify what type of identification documents you'll need to bring with you.
