My 65 mustang has 2 diff.size tires, which # is the correct one?
Also: The steering whell has too much play, is there an adjustment at the worm, or ?

the original size was 6.95-14, there is no adjustment on the steering, you problably have a bad tie-rod end.

It sounds like you need a front end rebuild along with checking out the streering box. Play in the front is usually from the steering box on down. There is an adjustment and possible it needs oil. Rebuild kits are all over for Mustangs an so are steering boxes. Check out Mustang Country and other places like that.

Your stock tires size depends on if you have a 4 lug wheel or 5 lug. 4 lug is for 6 cylinder cars and 5 is usually on V8 models. Either way stock is 14inch, original size is E 78 14. That is the old original tire size. Standard 14 in will fit just don't make them too small.

And the ball stud at the powerstering valve on the drag link is about to fall out get some to wiggle the steering wheel and watch for play. All that can be fixed up if you want to drive with out correcting all the time.
