why rely on some made up person you've never met. that's like....say I went looking for a date on the internet, then I see this guy, we spend 2 years talking. that whole time he's asking where I live. I avoid the question. the guy I met tells me all about him, and he sounds like the perfect guy. then I meet him and find out he's a 60 year old pervert who has been to jail 9 times. how do you know that's not like god?

Christians don't. They're just too weak to get through their lives on their own, and need to tell themselves that someone else is in charge of their lives. It's a way of shrugging off personal responsibility for one's own life.

Sure, give me all the thumbs-down in the world... But look inside yourself, Christians, you know I'm right!

Kira you have a valid question. You see, the best way I can describe it is this way. The way my life was before, drinkin, partyin, women, and not caring what I did and who saw it... that all started to change when I started to read the Bible and find out who this Jesus/God person were. The more I read the more I saw Him changing my life. So I'm not perfect by any means but I know He is in existence because of the absolute 180 degree turn around in my life. Its kind-of like the wind. You cannot see it, and lets say you were inside and couldn't feel it, but you can see the evidence that there is wind when you look at the waves, at the trees swaying, and sometimes the devastation as a result of the wind. Its a very simple analogy but Its similar to the way we can view God. Again its almost a trite way to describe the evidence there is God. I wish i could talk to you really. Typing on here almost seems a mockery and an injustice to the answer you deserve.

The reason I am a christian is because I have met God. I'm sorry you haven't or you would know that this question doesn't really make a lot of sense. You are asking a question as if God could be put in jail or is a being like yourself...sorry, it really isn't as difficult as you're trying to make it.

I know God is real because He changed my life. If you are interested in finding out about Him, just ask Him to reveal Himself. He will. I was a pretty hard core non-believer and I asked the question. I finally found the peace I had looked for through material possessions, people, jobs, drugs, etc. I am not talking about organized religion, though I do attend church. I am talking about a personal relationship with Him.

So after you found out that he's a 60 year pervert 9 times in jail, did you still communicate with him?

We don't, we really don't even know if God exists at all. There is no proof. But you had proof that your internet date existed before you met him right? For all we know there may be no god. some say God is the universe which just is.

Because God can give you an inner peace and strength that no man can. If you read the Bible, believe in Him, you feel it inside and know it is true and good. Hopefully you can understand, but I think it is a calm feeling that only true Christians can understand. Thanks for asking and have a great day!

...If God wanted to harm you why wouldn't he just do it? He has all the power he needs to do something to you. I rely on God because he is everything I need. He would never harm you in the way that a pervert would.

Because God's not looking for a date on the internet....this might be the dumbest question I've ever seen asked by an atheist.

I vote you as the new posterchild for atheism...you're my favorite.

It's kinda like believing the Earth is flat when it really isn't. That was a really popular belief a couple hundred years ago. However, many believed it.
