We're going to dinner at friends' house. They're serving tomato, mozarella and pesto paninis, and we're bringing wine. Any suggestions? Red wines that go well with pesto, etc?

No offense to the earlier guy, but cabs don't usually go well with tomato.
A nice Italian red would be perfect. Chianti Classico was a good suggestion, but if you want something even lighter (if it's warm where you are) a valpolicella would be great. Zenato is a great bottle, and they also make a good pinot grigio, which would be a good white to bring.

Try a good Classico Chianti. Banfi is a good Winery.

that's a tough call actually. i would probably do either a chianti, sangiovese for red. maybe a pinot grigio if you want a white.
