Some one told me that regular watching daily news on TV or reading the news paper is unhealthy. Is it true?

I can't read the paper or watch the news on TV or read the news on the net. I'm just now stabilizing from a depression, and I get upset out of all proportion when I hear about some of the horrible things that happen in this world. Or some of the stupid things that happen that so many people seem to care about but shouldn't (all that Hollywood-sl*t crap).

So, yeah, it's unhealthy for me right now.

I think that statement is meant for someone who is already depressed. Seeing all the negative things going on in the world is a very down heartening experience.

If you are OK then watch all the news and read the papers as much as you want. You can never learn to much and it is nice to get several points of view on any number of subjects.

I dont know where they are coming from but getting news from multiple news sources helps eliminate subtle ideological persuasion. I wouldnt say reading newspapers or watching news daily is unhealthy in itself.
