I dont want to pick on car racing as a sport but it seems that ESPN only picks clips where it shows either the winner celebrating, cars crashing or the last few laps of the race.
Granted it takes skill to drive like they do, what excitment is there for viewers?

Its an understanding..... What fun is football if you don't understand the rules and the strategy in which the game is played. Race fans, understand the concepts of racing. Go to a live race, it'll change your whole perspective.

This is ESPN's M.O.THe last time they broadcast NASCAR they had the tendency of cutting away from the race,showing "clips" if select drivers or teams are not doing good or showing a wreck it a major was involved.
I thought ESPN would learn from the ABC/ESPN merger and coverage of INDY,but they must want to screw the fans and make money.

in basketball do they show players just dribbling down the court?
no its usually them making a basket, hurt on the floor, or the team winning.
in football are they showing the entire drive down the field?
no its them making a touchdown, hurt on the field, or the team winning.
espn picks clips from races the same way they pick clips from anyother sport.
so let me ask you this what makes those other sports interesting when nobody is scoring, hurt or not the end of the game?
its just the uncertainty of not knowing of what is next. just like any other sport.

You say that. But ABC/ESPN sure has payed a LOT of money to broadcast the last 16 races of the year. Must be something interesting to a lot of people for them to have done that. And they been broadcasting every Busch race this year. Most anyway.

when you have a fave driver and you travel through the laps with that driver, cringing at every crash, spin, or bad pit stop...its like anyother sport, if you love it, it is more than exciting

This sport is very interesting. The excitment is the racing whos gona win? who will make to the end? that's why i like also because jeff gordon is one or is the best driver ever.
