Oh please. Try doing some research. The battery in a 2001 Prius is warranted for 8 years or 100,000 miles, and only a tiny handful of them have been replaced to date (*regardless* of number of miles).
As far as the price on a 2001 Prius: A good starting point can be found for any used car in the Kelley Blue Book. Website is kbb.com. For the 2001 Prius, you can use this URL:
http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/2001_Toyota_Prius.aspx
You'll need to enter your zip code (prices vary in different places), the mileage of the car, condition, accessories. Good luck!

I can't top Pinball's answer, but will certainly second the advice. That's is how I shopped for my 2006 Prius, even though I bought it new, my location mattered on the price I paid.

You pay for the car then find out it needs 3,000 dollar battery replaced. Dual propulsion cars really are not much better Toyota Corrola CE gets 41 miles a gallon and costs less than 15,000
