Olive oil doesn't contain cholesterol.
No plant does. Cholesterol only comes from meat sources.

There are other kinds of plant oils that are bad for you, like coconut oil and palm oil.

Olive oil contains a different kind of fat that helps lower your body's bad cholesterol.
You can use it for sauteing, but it's not stable enough to deep-fry with. Better to grill, broil or bake, if you want to be healthier.

Olive oil is a better choice of oils, but its still high in calories-there are 1800 calories in one cup. It is not a suitable oil for deepfrying, as it has a low smoke point and will get too hot. Deep frying is a bad idea, no matter what oil is used. Steaming, poaching or baking is a healthier choice.

Olive oil shouldn't be used for deep frying. It breaks down and smokes at high heat. Use it in dressings, or for sauteeing. Although it is a healthier oil, it still contains the same amount of calories as any oil.

It won't raise your cholesterol, but it does have just as much fat and calories as any other fat.
It is better for you than, say, lard. But it's still a fat, and too much fat is a bad thing. Balance in our diets is what I try to do.
I only use butter and olive oil in my cooking. Margarine and other polyunsaturated junk is stuff your body doesn't really "know" how to process. I'd rather have a little of something real than a lot of that other junk.

Olive oil is the healthiest kind of oil, but it should still be used sparingly because it has plenty of fat and calories. You can't deep fry with it, though, because it has a low tolerance for heat. You should use it in sauces, dip bread in it and drizzle it on pasta.

Wesson oil will do in a pinch... Bout time you acquired again right here, Buk, Yidiot, and a number people had been lacking you! Buk attempted to publish a query approximately you in these days, however it (of path) was once deleted after a couple of mins. **palms you a recent baked "magic" brownie**

Of course it still has calories.

Raising cholesterol depends a lot upon your family history and how the rest of your diet is. But OO is better than lard or Crisco for frying for sure!
