I have a sister-in-law that has said very mean things about the way I dress. She has brought me to tears. I dress modestly and stylishly but she says I dress like a teenager. She is in her 20's and weighs about 275 lbs and I have never ever said anything to hurt her! Even if it's jealousy it still bothers me. She likes to pick on me in general and has a very loud mouth. What would you do? I'm starting to feel insecure about this.

Don't let that bully make you feel insecure. I think she's only picking on your because you are prettier than her. She might be saying to herself "If I was her size, shape, or had her looks, I'd dress like Brittney Spears...(a total skank!)" In other words, I thinks she's jealous and since she can't compete with you she's found a weak area in your self esteem and she's attacking you. But once again don't let her do it. Either talk about her just as loud and obnoxious or turn and leave the room anytime she starts in on you. Only a fool argues by themselves. Make her feel like a fool by rising above her antics by being intelligent in your replies to her insults and then simply leave the room while she is in mid sentence.

I know how you feel. I have been in this situation many times, and really I think everyone has. I think you are right she is jealous however, this does not give her the right to make you feel hurt. You should take her aside or take her to lunch one day and explain in detail how this makes you feel. Ask her if people have said things that have hurt her. Ask her how she felt. Odds are she will understand and have some compassion for what she has been doing to you.

Well... i had the same problem with my uncle. I was going through a rebelious stage(still am) and he critizied everything i wore unless it was pink!! meanwhile his daughter, my cousin, is no offence fat and her shirts had her stomache handing out. I would were biker shirts my dad got me and he would say "Those are what the people i watch in jail wear". I learned to ignore it because i am my own person and so are you. You should ignore her comments and don't get worked up about it. She is not you and you are not her... you are YOUR own person and you should stay that way.

If you are comfortable with the way you look, and no one else has ever said a word, just look upon it as her problem. Think of it as a mental challenge for her to tone it down and treat you with respect. Ignore it and don't come to tears over it, for it only fuels her obnoxiousness.
Maybe you'll be lucky and she won't be forever in your life.

I would stick up to her and tell her i don't care about how people tease about me cause this is how i dress whether you like it or not! Hope it works

She knows you are insecure and she preys upon that.
Wear something really sexy and stand up to the fat cow.

pardon me for writing errors . don't care your sister ,but think about your dressing (do you think you are right or not ? Please Don't interfere other opnions ) . if you can CONVINCE your own , then you can CONVINCE her ,I'm sure you can .
