those questions you have...keep asking the church officials and other members. you should never be encouraged to follow blindly or have your questions swept aside. keep exploring and questioning and never lose that curiosity....you need these things to find the right path! i am confident that you will find truth....just listen to that little voice inside you.
on another note, how humble of you to be able to apologize. your respect is a great quality!

We all go through this...I was inactive for 9 years from the church when I was younger. Then I heard someone on the radio mocking mormonism and saying you should be a born again protestant. The problem is a lot of misconceptions, exaggerations, and complete deception by people.

I know you have you have some doubts now, but most converts go throught stuff that they don't know but are confused. But there is a DVD that can help you with some.
It's not made by the church, but done an LDS producer.

You can email anytime you want, and give me questions that bother you. Members dont' want to bash with other people about their religion, so they just get out of the way of antimormons. You learn little by little, precept upon precept stuff that guide you long and well. But first you need a testimony. You need to feel the spirit...once you feel it then you know you are on the right path and not in the large and spacious building of people mocking you. 1 Nephi.
Then stick to the iron rod....and go forward.
God bless.

I'm not a Mormon but I understand your confusion. Religion is a very complex issue and even though you might belong to a church some beliefs just don't settle with you. Is hard to completely believe everything you are told by your bishops or reverends. I understand you, I think you have to do independent research on the LDS faith. Where it originiate from, its beliefs, why they have these beliefs and how much do they read the bible, and what Joseph Smith did. I know a bit of the history and many websites that you can view. E-mail me if you need some information, I think you need to talk to the one in charge of your temple. I have disagreements with the Mormon Church but I refrain from criticizing them because to each his own. I hope you do more research and I suggest you try to explore other faiths, protestanism or Catholicism. Find the one you feel at home with and you will be happy.

I appreciate your sincere apology and attempt to right any wrong you may have committed. I've read nothing that would convince me you are castigating your faith.
But without a strong and burning testimony of the truthfulness of this Church we can always find things wrong in it and ourselves. The same holds true for any venture or system of belief.
The initial test is knowing the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and how it came to be. Aside from the other scriptures we follow, the sundry and technical histories that often deride a person's testimony is baseless.
I hope you can reach the point at overlooking those things that bring doubt to your belief system and move onward in the Church. Your salvation and exaltation hinges on that acceptance. Remember, Satan is doing everything he can to convince the membership that they are wrong, the Church is wrong, and everything else in it is wrong.
Why do you suppose this Church receives more pointed fingers and accusatory remarks than any other church? Why do you suppose that the Mormon Church is the butt of jokes and snide remarks even from other pulpits? If you think about it you will know why. The Adversary loves dissention and malcontent, hoping to sway those away from the Church that are weak. Don't be another victim.

Mormonism 101: You're fiance is going to have to clean up his act quite a bit before he can get sealed/married in the temple. Mormons are Christians, they do believe in God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and the Bible. We believe that Christ's original church was lost from the earth with the death of the apostles. In 1820 there was a young man named Joseph Smith. God the father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in vision and informed him that none of the churches were true. He was eventually called to restore Christ's church to the earth, to be a Prophet of God, like the prophets of the Bible, and was led to and given the power to translate an ancient book of scripture that is now known as The Book of Mormon. As for garments, they're actually very comfortable!

Hey!
That's OK :) everyone has questions. But I just want to advice you to not pay too much attention to some of the "information" that some sources for research give. Before joining the church, I did my own research and I found sooooooo many things, believe me, things that I have now discovered that are not true. However, keep praying to our Heavenly Father, HE will give you all answers you need. Keep strong girl, there are too many weird stuffs about our church out there and they can cause confussion. Be strong. ^_^

Oh, I thought you were just trying to see all of the rest of us LDS views. I never thought it was mocking or anything. I know LDS people on here that just ask questions to see not only what other LDS people think, but what the rest of the world thinks. Thanks for clearing that up though
Peace be with you as you search for the truth. Have a great day.

Well I had the burning in the bossom and the testimony,b ut that did not save me from falling away, I don't think words (testimony) will keep a person in the church, or not thinking at all, you have to know that the churhc is for you, and if that means do research, then do it, and if the mormons get mad, then let them, you have to do what you have to do. If it makes your testimony stronger, good, if not, then you will never have to wonder.

No worries... and thanks for the humble apology!
I have read all the things you have and when I first read them I had doubts too... but after careful study and prayful study I have come to learn of the misleading nature of those things.
Look at them from a larger perspective, most of them really don't prove or change anything, some we many we don't have the answers to... then there are the rest that are either lies, half truths or taken out of context.
I know you can over come this with a little prayer and heavenly perspective.
good luck and thank you :)

I personally am not offended. The LDS faith is not for everyone. I hope you are happy were you are and if you have any questions, I would be happy to try and answer them, but don't know everything.
