Psalm 22.
Christ was reciting Scripture.
And yes, after Christ said this be said "it is finished", there was an earthquake, the sky darkened and the curtain in the Temple was torn revealing that the Ark of the Covenant was not in the Temple because the Ark of the New Covenant was on a Cross.

Everything Jesus did and said from time He rode into Jerusalem 3 days before on donkey and presented Himself as King--are all found in the O.T. The seven statements from
the Cross was exact words from Prophets of Old.
The Psalms not only tell of His coming as Suffering Servant--But also the Second Coming ,Not as A Servant ,but A King that will rule with a Rod of Iron, from Temple Mount, there will be no more war; There will be a Glich at end of 1000 yr Reign it is over in a second/ Eternity has started.Man was given six Millenium to rule ,,All ended in Failure---But the Seventh Millenium "Victorius"-Words can"t describe.

The words to which you refer are not his last words. His last words were "It is finished" (Joh 19:30).
When Jesus said "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me", He was not saying this out of desperation. He was actually quoting scripture. They are the first words of Psalm 22 wherein the manner of His death are prophesied. He was drawing every ones attention (including the attention of the Pharisees that were watching) to the fact that they were witnessing the fulfillment of an Old Testament Prophecy.
That being said He was indeed forsaken at that point. Why? because He bore the sins of the world upon Him and His actual last words reveal the to us that the whole purpose of God entering into human history in the flesh through Jesus was to take upon His flesh, the sins of all flesh and to declare to all in triumphant victory that "IT IS FINISHED"

Chrystal Blue, as others have mentioned, the last words were "it is finished".
But put yourself in Christ's situation on the cross. Because he was God, he had a oneness with God, and at the time it was the most difficult, he felt that God had abandoned him as he was not experiencing that oneness with his father. It must have been very frightening for him, not only to endure that separation, but to have it at the time when he was suffering through a crucifixion paying the penalty for everyone's sin.
Sin is what separates us from God, but what Jesus did in those 4 days (Thursdsay Sunday) are what restores that relationship back to God.

You make the same mistake that the pharisees made when they heard him. They thought He was calling for Elijah because they were hearing with hardened hearts. I would guess you are not a believer and are trying to sow doubt in others. If you put as much energy into understanding what has been written you may not make such a fool of yourself here. Now go back and reread the account in a real bible and not the "Cynics Bible" webpage and do so with an honest attempt to understand and you will see the error of your statement.

First of All, these can not be words of God ( as Christians says for Prophet Jesus), calling God ( Himself).
Does it make sense? Off course NOT !
This claim or I would say allegation ( Because He The Prophet Jesus never claim of divinity), itself is contradiction within today's versions of Bibles.
For serious truth seekers only, I would not recommend to non serious people to go following links.
History of man's corruption in the Bible. Located in section #2 in the link. The section has tons of historical events and details backed by quotes from major scholars, books and historians who used to be Biblical Theologians that expose the historical corruption of the Bible.

Others have accurately pointed out that His last words on the cross were "It is finished". Jesus cried out "why have you forsaken me" because He was a "man like us" at that moment. He was suffering as a "man" would and begging the pain to end.
Even in the garden, before the crucifixion, He pleaded that the "cup" He was about to drink be "taken from" Him. He knew what He was facing and, as a "man like us", was having second thoughts.
I am glad He was a "man like us".

You lack of Bible knowledge shows dear. Jesus was not questioning God; he was quoting the first line of Psalm 22, which is a deep expression of the anguish he felt when he took on the sins of the world which caused him to be separated from his Father. This was what Jesus dreaded as he prayed to God in the garden to take the cup from him Matt: 26:39. The physical agony was horrible, but even worse was the period of spiritual separation from God. Jesus suffered this double death so that we wold never have to experience eternal separation from God.
It is for that reason that we are taught that Jesus died so that we might live....not physically ...but spiritually.

Jesus spoke these words to fulfill the prophecy written at Psalm 22:1, which was originally written relative to David. God did not abandon or forsake his son, in the sense that he turned his back on him. God forsook or released Jesus over to his enemies, to be subject to the enemies to do whatever they wanted to do with him, not even shielding him from ignominious death.
Jesus' utterance of these words does not mean he didn't know what was coming. You are overlooking other scriptures... Matthew 16:21-23 for instance: From that time forward Jesus Christ commenced showing his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the older men and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised up. At this Peter took him aside and commenced rebuking him, saying: “Be kind to yourself, Lord; you will not have this [destiny] at all.” But, turning his back, he said to Peter: “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, because you think, not God’s thoughts, but those of men.”
