As someone who studies religions all the time, and has a BA in Religious Studies, I am wondering if I have lost sight of which words are specialized, and which ones everyone knows. I was chastised last night on here for using the word "proselytize" and I was rather taken aback by that. So, just tell me honestly, do you know the meaning of the following words, without having to look them up?

1. Proselytize
2. Eschatology
3. Apocalyptic Prophet
4. Monotheism
5. Orthodoxy
6. Canon
7. Pluralism
8. Exclusivism
9. mantra
10. karma
11. nirvana

Don't be embarassed if you don't know them all. I just need honest answers. I assume some will know them all, and maybe some won't. It's ok!

Most of them, including proselytize. But I'm not sure about eschatology. Well, google is right here, I can look it up.

Mantra meaning mystically powerful hymn, Karma meaning actions, Nirvana meaning Salvation or Moksha or Moha Kshaya, the Cessation of all the desires.

Canon may be law (not very sure), Pluralism may be many paths, Exclusivism may be one path,

Rest of the things, not much aware of, If you can also bring out the meanings of the words like Thessalonians, Corinthians and the likes also in simple terms it shall be of great help for non - Christians like jk who hear a lot of Bible being preached and quoted but not aware of the meanings of fundamental words.

Know them all, use them all. I don't have a BA in Religious Studies (mine is in theatre) but I was a pastor for 10 years and attended two seminaries.
